How to Establish a Stable Morning Routine
Having a daily morning routine isn't about adding more to your to-do list for the day. Morning routines, especially for moms, are important for setting the tone for the day.
While there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all morning routine, you can find something that meets your particular needs, and your morning routines will eventually evolve.
Everyone’s idea of what this exactly entails will be different depending on life circumstances. Regardless, if it isn’t a routine that can be done consistently, then adjust it to something more realistic.
The good thing is that it also evolves into self-care. It does not have to be a lifetime commitment; it can be whatever works for that season.
Remember that our morning routines should be things that prepare us for joy, a good day, feeling powerful, being our best selves, boosting our productivity levels, and making us feel better overall.
3 Takeaways from Sara Dean
You must make that routine desirable, pleasurable, and inviting, or else you will never do it. The first few minutes of your morning routine should be something you actually want to do, and not something you think you should want to do. Whether it's sipping your favorite coffee or creating a cozy corner for yourself with your favorite blanket. Do what you love first.
Make your routine more reflective and rewarding by identifying three major tasks to complete that day. Whether it's a quick gratitude practice, action planning for the day ahead, or physical activity. Whatever it is that will make you feel more prepared to face the day.
Maintain consistency in your routine. If you make it simple and rewarding and schedule it into your day at a time that works for you in your season of life, it will become a no-brainer for you. There are many ways to make it adaptable, and your children will eventually become used to it and will not interrupt.
Set aside any goals for perfection. Set your mind on what you want to focus on for the day, and set your heart and mind with the right attitude. In no time, you'll be an old pro, and mornings will no longer feel like a challenge.
